The company received ISO certification in 2001, and continues to stay on top of quality control, he says. “We are trying to [implement] more complete assessments, add more value to each product and add more automated equipment to keep costs low thus improving our ability to compete,” Meaden says.

Meaden Precision uses only the top-notch raw material suppliers, he stresses. “We have good relationships with our suppliers because we need to have good-quality products,” he says.  “These top notch suppliers have had a long standing reputation and history with us for supplying only the best in raw materials.”

President Thomas Meaden says Meaden Precision prides itself on quality.

‘High Quality, Low Cost’
In 1939, Meaden Precision was founded by John A. Meaden and John Meaden Jr., Thomas Meaden’s grandfather and father, respectively.  Thomas Meaden joined the company full-time in 1974 after a four-year career with the Air Force.

“The Meaden family has always felt the importance of investing in the company,” Meaden says. “This has always been done with careful planning, direction and goals, all designed to carry the company aggressively into the future.”

Meaden says the company’s goal is to become a “high-quality, low-cost producer of machine products.” It also encourages companies to stick with domestic suppliers, he stresses.

“We can give quick answers and support,” he says. “If something goes wrong, [overseas manufacturers] are six or 12 hours ahead.  We’ll be able to give a much quicker turnaround and immediate support.  If you are going overseas, the soonest [to get results] could be six to eight weeks.”
