The Obama administration is trying to boost the credit markets and fuel R&D, and the U.S. Treasury recently launched a program that will provide $5 billion to support automotive suppliers.

There are a number of federal programs to support the manufacturing industry, but what are the states doing? Many states have partnered with the federal government to support their manufacturing base and attract new companies within the industry, and many other states have created programs of their own to boost their manufacturing market.

Some are also working with various industry organizations to drive interest among students in manufacturing careers. The following ten states have had success with their programs.
