When it comes to enjoying all that college football has to offer, the sport, its competitors and the stadium are only a fraction of the experience. There is more to the Cleveland Indians than just hits, runs and batting averages. As one of the top teams in the American League, the Cleveland Indians are committed to causes that benefit communities throughout northeastern Ohio. The ballclub plays a prominent role in the support of Cleveland area charities. And, most recently, the Tribe has been hard at work reducing its carbon footprint – and becoming a leader in the “green” field.

With its warm, tropical climate, white-sand beaches and crystal blue waters, the Bahamas draw approximately 5 million tourists each year. The tourism industry makes up approximately 60 percent of the Bahamian GDP, but that percentage is likely to increase in 2014, when the new Baha Mar mega resort opens – a unique venture not only for the Bahamas, but also for the entire Caribbean market.

With its location between Okanagan Lake, the Cascade Mountains and the Canadian Rockies, the community of Kelowna, British Columbia already has a lot going for it. Even without the curiosity created by the legend of Ogopogo, the lake’s so-called monster, the city has been a destination for tourists for years, and its full-time population has been growing steadily for the last few decades.

As part of a $30 billion-plus investment program to modernize, upgrade and expand Ontario’s public infrastructure, Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correction Services are replacing the Toronto Jail with the new Toronto South Detention Centre, a 1,650-bed maximum-security prison for adult inmates. In addition, the Toronto South Detention Centre will serve inmates  with special needs.

A major player in the Calgary comm­­er­cial landscaping market is gearing up for one of its busiest years. “We already have twice as much work lined up for this year than we completed last year,” says Leo­nard Saunders, owner of Saun­ders Land­scaping and Renovation Ltd.
